Overview
Since 1888, the University of Charleston has grown and expanded to meet the educational needs of students from across the nation and around the world. The University of Charleston is an independent, co-educational residential university with two principal locations in West Virginia - a main campus in the state capital of Charleston and a second location in Beckley. The University also has a strong online presence. The University of Charleston is unique in offering a performance-based curriculum focused on specific outcomes, determined to be essential abilities every student should have for a lifetime of learning and opportunity. The Liberal Learning Outcomes - critical thinking, communication, citizenship, creativity, involvement, ethical practice and inquiry - are embedded in all UC programs to help students understand and apply how coursework relates to the real world, the student and lifelong career building. Undergraduate degree programs are available in business, health sciences and arts and sciences. Masters programs are available in master of business administration, master of science in cyber security, master of science in strategic leadership and physician assistant. UC offers doctorates of pharmacy and executive leadership. There are over 100 courses available online as well. Many programs provide advanced, unique professional development opportunities including internships, campus speakers and other events, and mentoring.
